Join as a Career Advisor

You've spent years helping people navigate careers. Here's a place to do that — with the tools, the infrastructure, and the reach — while keeping what you've earned.

Your Expertise. Your Practice. A Platform Built to Support Both.

Let's be upfront about something. Most platforms take a big cut, give you little control, and treat advisors as a commodity.
We're not doing that.
CareerCanny is being built differently — from the ground up, with a deliberate philosophy: when our advisors succeed, we succeed. That's not just something we say; it's baked into how we split revenue, how we make decisions, and how we design every part of this platform.
We're currently finalizing our Founding Cohort — a small, deliberately chosen group of career advisors who will help shape CareerCanny before we open our services to the public. Each advisor in this cohort is selected for the expertise, integrity, and genuine commitment to career development they bring. We don't intend to keep this application window open for long, and we won't be filling seats just to fill them.
What is a cohort? At CareerCanny, advisors are organized into cohorts — groups defined by the unique value they contribute to the platform, not by rank or seniority. An advisor can belong to more than one cohort, and each cohort is recognized with a formal badge. More on this below.

Is This For You?

We’re looking for career professionals who bring real-world expertise and a genuine interest in helping people make meaningful career moves. That includes, but isn’t limited to:

  • Career coaches and consultants
  • Resume and LinkedIn profile specialists
  • Interview preparation coaches
  • Job search strategists
  • Career transition and pivot advisors
  • Salary negotiation specialists
  • Professional development coaches
  • Industry-specific career mentors
  • Executive and leadership coaches
  • Training coaches who develop and deliver career-focused courses
If your expertise helps people design, navigate, or advance their careers — and if you're serious about doing that work with integrity — there's likely a place for you here.

What You Get

Here's the honest version — no fluff

Your Profile, Your Practice

You’ll have a dedicated advisor bio page on CareerCanny — built around your specific expertise, your services, and your professional story. This isn’t a generic listing; it’s your profile. Clients looking for the help you provide will find you there.

Your Services, Your Way

You can offer any of the services currently listed on our Career Services page, or bring your own unique services to the platform. We’ll create a dedicated service page for you and assign you as the exclusive advisor for those services. No one else competes with you for your specialization on this platform.

Seamless Booking and Scheduling

Our booking system integrates directly with your existing calendar — Google or Outlook — so you’re always in control of your availability. Clients can book sessions based on your real-time schedule with no back-and-forth emails. You set the hours; the system handles the logistics.

Payments - Directly To You

You’ll connect your own Stripe account to the platform. When a client pays for your service, your share is automatically routed to you. No waiting around for a cheque, no monthly payout request process. Your earnings hit your account on schedule.

Host Workshops Your Way

Host engaging workshops, group coaching sessions, and live events in purpose-built immersive GoBrunch virtual spaces — designed for interaction, not just video calls.

Your Cohort, Your Role

CareerCanny organizes its advisors into cohorts. A cohort isn't a rank — it's a reflection of what you bring to the platform and the users you're best positioned to serve. There's no hierarchy, no competition between cohort types, and no single path every advisor is expected to follow.

Founding

Founding Cohort — Advisors who join during the pre-launch phase and help build the foundation of the platform. Recognized permanently for their role in shaping CareerCanny from the start.

Specialist

Specialist Cohort — Advisors with deep expertise in a specific industry, sector, or career role. Recruited when the platform identifies a user segment that needs dedicated, specialized support.

Influence

Influence Cohort — Advisors who extend the platform’s reach through an established audience, professional network, or content presence. Their impact goes beyond 1:1 sessions. Influence Cohort advisors are also uniquely positioned to benefit from CareerCanny’s affiliate program — because when you actively promote your courses or the platform to your existing audience, you earn affiliate commissions on those referred sales, on top of your standard creator or service revenue. Your reach has real financial value here, not just visibility.

Community

Community Cohort — Advisors who serve underrepresented or underserved career communities — newcomers, career returners, first-generation professionals, and others who need support the most.

An advisor can belong to more than one cohort at the same time. A Founding Cohort advisor who later develops significant industry expertise may earn a Specialist badge. An advisor with a strong professional audience may carry both a Specialist and an Influence badge. Cohort membership grows with you — it's never a ceiling.
Each cohort membership is formally recognized with a badge displayed on your advisor profile page — visible to users, peers, and the broader professional community. These aren't participation ribbons. They're a genuine signal of the specific kind of value you bring, and they're earned, not given.

Courses — Share What You Know

If you’re a training coach or educator, we support you in two ways:

  1. Work with us to develop a new course from scratch — we’ll support the process and list it under your name on the CareerCanny Career Courses page.
  2. Bring a course you’ve already created — we’ll review it for alignment with our platform’s standards and list it alongside our other offerings.

Course sales are processed and course payouts are transferred bi-weekly, after accounting for platform commissions and any affiliate referrals.

A note on intellectual property: when your course is listed on CareerCanny, we retain rights to the course content as it appears on our platform. You retain your underlying expertise and authorship. We handle platform operations, ethical standards, and business alignment. This is a standard arrangement — and it's disclosed clearly so there are no surprises.
One more thing worth knowing: every advisor on the platform receives a unique affiliate link. If you choose to share your course with your own professional network, social media audience, or community, any purchases made through your link are tracked as self-referred sales. On those sales, you earn both your creator share and the affiliate commission — so actively promoting your own work pays you meaningfully more than simply waiting for platform traffic. You are never required to promote; the link is yours to use if and when you choose to.

What You Earn

We believe in being transparent about money. Here is exactly how the revenue is split — including a meaningful difference that sets CareerCanny apart from most platforms.

* The Affiliate Pool (up to 30%) covers commissions paid to external affiliates or fellow advisors who referred the course sale. On organic or platform-driven sales where no affiliate is involved, this portion accrues to CareerCanny as platform revenue.

** Self-referred sales are course purchases driven through your own unique advisor affiliate link — for example, when you share your course with your professional network, newsletter, or social audience. On those sales, you earn both your creator share and the affiliate commission. CareerCanny keeps its 10% regardless.

Career Services

~ the short version:

You keep 90% of every session you deliver. We take a 10% platform fee. That’s it.

Courses

~ the short version:

You keep 60% of every course sale as the creator. If you refer the sale yourself through your own channels, you also earn the affiliate commission on that sale — up to 30% — bringing your total to up to 90% on self-referred purchases. CareerCanny always keeps 10%.

Why does this matter? Because an advisor who actively promotes their work to their own audience is doing real marketing work. That effort should be rewarded — not captured by the platform. If you bring the audience, you should benefit from bringing the audience.

Every advisor receives a unique affiliate link as part of their profile setup. You are never required to use it — but it is always there if you choose to.

We will keep all advisors fully informed of their performance and earnings on a regular basis. No black boxes.

This Is A Real Partnership

Regular Connects — Platform-Wide and Cohort-Specific

We organize two kinds of regular group sessions with our advisor community.

Platform-wide connects bring the full advisor group together — bi-weekly or monthly depending on the stage of the platform. These are working sessions: we share what’s performing well, what we’re building next, and where we need your input. Your ideas and feedback directly shape how CareerCanny evolves. We mean that, not as a courtesy line, but as a structural commitment.

Cohort-specific connects go deeper. Specialist Cohort advisors working in financial services, for example, will have their own sessions to discuss what their specific users are asking for, what content would serve them, and how that vertical should grow. These conversations are more focused and more actionable — and they produce better outcomes for users than any platform-wide discussion can.

Both types of connects are part of how we make sure advisors are never operating in isolation. You’re not a listing on a directory — you’re part of a community that is actively working on the same problem together.

You Have a Voice in Platform Growth

Any significant decision that affects advisor revenue — including potential future allocation of a growth or influencer marketing fund — will be made by majority consensus with our advisor group, not unilaterally.

If we ever propose revising the financial model, we bring it to the table first.

You vote on it.

A Limited, Intentional Group

We’re deliberately keeping our advisor roster small — at least to begin with. Our goal isn’t to build a massive marketplace of hundreds of advisors; it’s to build a focused group of high-quality experts who are properly supported, well-compensated, and positioned to genuinely help our users.

When the platform needs to grow its advisor base, we’ll reach out proactively — we won’t just reopen a public application window.

Where We're Headed

The current platform covers general career services and professional career courses. As we grow, we plan to expand into industry-specific career support — including sectors like technology, telecommunications, banking, financial services, retail, construction, and others.

We’ll also explore role-specific programs within those industries.

As our founding advisors, you’ll be first in line for those opportunities as they open up.

Questions You Probably Have

Let's be direct and address them.
Is there already an active user base, or are you still building the marketplace?

We’re in our pre-launch phase. We’re finalizing the founding advisor team before we open the platform’s services publicly. This means you’re joining at the ground floor — which is both a realistic starting point and a genuine opportunity. You won’t walk into a built-out client base on day one, but you will be part of shaping the platform as it grows, with terms that will become harder to offer once the platform is established. Our focus from launch will be on driving user acquisition — that’s our job, not yours.

No. User acquisition is CareerCanny’s responsibility. We handle marketing, SEO, content, and outreach to bring clients to the platform — that’s not on you.

That said, if you have an existing audience — whether that’s a professional following, a newsletter, a social presence, or a network of past clients — you’re absolutely welcome to direct them to your CareerCanny profile. And here’s the difference from most platforms: if you do, you benefit financially from it. When someone purchases your course through your unique advisor affiliate link, you earn both your creator share and the affiliate commission on that sale. You’re not just doing marketing for the platform; you’re earning from your own promotional effort.

For advisors whose cohort doesn’t involve an existing audience, there is simply no expectation of self-sourced client volume. For those who do have one — particularly Influence Cohort advisors — choosing to use it is one of the most straightforward ways to earn more on the platform.

No. Courses are optional for all advisors. You can participate purely as a service advisor and never create a single piece of course content. There is no pressure and no disadvantage to doing so.

If you do want to create courses, there are two paths: we can support you in building one from the ground up, or you can bring an existing course that we review for platform alignment and list under your name on the CareerCanny Career Courses page. Either way, your course appears with your profile and your credibility attached to it.

Course creation is also one of the pathways to the Influence Cohort. If you develop content that reaches a wide audience, builds your professional reputation, or drives meaningful traffic to the platform, that’s the kind of contribution the Influence Cohort recognizes formally — with a badge on your profile. So while courses are never required, they are one of the most visible ways to grow your presence on the platform over time.

Yes. We are not asking for exclusivity across your professional life. You can maintain your existing coaching practice, website, and other platform presences. What we ask is simply that you represent CareerCanny professionally and don’t actively work to redirect our shared clients away from the platform.

You’ll need a reliable internet connection, a computer capable of video calls, and a Stripe account for receiving payments. You’ll also connect your existing Google or Outlook calendar to the platform’s booking system. That’s it. You don’t need to buy or learn any new software beyond what you likely already use.

No. We’re not going to impose arbitrary hourly minimums or penalize you for a slow month. That said, advisors who are consistently active and engaged with the platform will naturally be featured more prominently. We want advisors who are here to do genuine work, not just to hold a listing.

The booking system allows you to set your own cancellation policy. Refund and dispute situations will be handled collaboratively — we’ll work with you to resolve issues fairly, and we’ll have clear policies in place before the platform goes live. We won’t leave advisors to fight those battles alone.

You can exit the partnership. Any course content hosted on the platform at the time of departure would remain under the terms agreed upon at the time of listing. Your service profile and bio would be removed. We’ll handle offboarding professionally and respectfully — same as we expect the partnership to operate.

Yes. Before you’re formally onboarded as a CareerCanny advisor, you’ll review and sign an Advisor Partnership Agreement that outlines all of the terms discussed here — revenue splits, intellectual property for courses, conduct standards, and the like. There won’t be surprises. What’s on this page reflects what will be in that agreement.

We’ll also send regular updates. The bi-weekly group connect sessions are another touchpoint for platform-wide performance conversations. We believe informed partners make better decisions — and that includes keeping you in the loop on how CareerCanny is doing overall.

CareerCanny organizes advisors into cohorts — not as a ranking system, but as a way of recognizing the distinct kind of value each advisor contributes to the platform. There are currently four cohorts:

  • Founding Cohort — For advisors joining during the pre-launch phase who help build the platform from the ground up.
  • Specialist Cohort — For advisors with deep expertise in a specific industry, sector, or career role, recruited to serve users with defined and specialized needs.
  • Influence Cohort — For advisors who extend the platform’s reach through an established audience, professional network, or content presence.
  • Community Cohort — For advisors who serve underrepresented or underserved career communities.

You can belong to more than one cohort simultaneously. Each cohort you belong to is recognized with a badge displayed on your advisor profile — visible to users and the professional community. Badges are earned based on what you bring and contribute; they’re not assigned arbitrarily or handed out as participation recognition.

If you’re applying right now, you’re being considered for the Founding Cohort. Additional cohort eligibility — and the badges that come with it — is assessed during the onboarding conversation and revisited as your profile and contribution to the platform evolve over time.

Yes — and this is something we designed deliberately, because we think it’s only fair.

Every advisor on CareerCanny receives a unique affiliate link as part of their profile setup. You can use that link to share your courses — or CareerCanny generally — with your own professional network, social audience, or community. When someone makes a purchase through your link, you earn an affiliate commission on that sale, on top of your standard revenue share.

For course sales specifically, here is how it works:

  • On platform-driven or organic sales (where no affiliate link was involved): you earn your full 60% creator share. CareerCanny retains the remainder.
  • On self-referred sales (where the buyer came through your own affiliate link): you earn your 60% creator share plus the affiliate commission — up to 30% — for a total of up to 90% on that sale. CareerCanny keeps 10%.
  • On cross-referral sales (where you refer someone to a colleague’s course or to the platform generally): you earn the standard affiliate commission from the affiliate pool, just as any external affiliate would.

You are never required to use your affiliate link. There is no minimum promotion requirement and no disadvantage to advisors who choose not to use it. It is simply available to all advisors — because if you’re going to do the work of promoting your courses, you should be the one who benefits from it.

Why Now Matters

There's a reason we're selective about who we bring on at this stage — and it's not just about quality control.
Founding advisors get terms, visibility, and influence that later advisors simply won't. The revenue model we're offering today reflects our commitment to making this worthwhile for the people who build it with us. As the platform matures and our user base grows, those terms may not be as generous. We want people in this founding cohort who recognize that.
This is also a moment where your input genuinely shapes the product. The platform is not locked in. The courses aren't all built. The service categories aren't all defined. If you have a perspective on what professionals actually need — and you probably do — you'll have a real opportunity to influence how this platform serves them.

Ready to Have a Conversation?

We're not doing a mass open application. We're having individual conversations with professionals we think could be a strong fit for this founding group.
If you've read this far and this resonates, here's what to do next: reach out. Tell us a bit about your background, the kind of work you do, and why you think CareerCanny is the right platform for you. We'll take it from there.
The people who help others build great careers deserve a platform that's built around them. That's what we're here to be.
